Four students are to represent FCT in the Spelling Bee competition in Lagos.

Two of the students are from Cherryfield College, Jikwoyi and the two others from Capville Secondary School, Gwarinpa and Excellent Kiddies Montessori Academy, Bwari.

 

They emerged after a spelling competition which held at Cherryfield College. 

 

Programme Director of Young Educators Foundation, organisers of the Spelling Bee contest,  Akinleye Olu-Philips. said the competition was not just about the students’ ability to spell words but understanding the rudiments of the language because words have origin.

The national finale will hold between April 24 and 28 in Lagos with two participants from each state and four students each from Lagos and Abuja.

 The overall winner will get return ticket to USA with $500 shopping money, N250, 000 winning bonus and another N200, 000 from Beta Malt. The winner will also be the face of Beta Malt for a year in addition to getting two crates of Beta Malt monthly throughout the year.
