A building located along Orisha Street, Isheri area of Berger axis of Lagos State collapsed on Saturday morning killing four siblings.
The deceased brothers were identified as Sylva Odiah, 23, Sayo Odiah, 15, Clinton Odiah, 11 and Endurance Odiah 8. They reportedly died in the collapsed three-bed room flat.
Their mother, Mrs. Odiah, a widow was however rescued, and she is currently in critical condition at the hospital.
Eight-year old Endurance was the first to be brought out of the rubble at around 8.30am dead while Sylva was the last person to be fished out from under the rubles.
It was only the room where the four brothers slept that was badly affected, while other parts of the house had minor cracks.
A witness alleged that the incident occurred around 6am during heavy down pour.
The affected building, according to witnesses never showed any sign of imminent collapse before the incident occurred.
The youths in the area were the first to embark on a desperate rescue mission to save the trapped victims.
All the bodies of the trapped persons had been recovered by rescuers made up of officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), officials from the State and Federal Fire Services as well as the police.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of NEMA in the South-West Region, Ibrahim Farinloye who confirmed the incident said all four casualties were recovered dead.
