Speaking, the Chairman, implementation committee of Kano missing children, Justice Wada Umar Rano, at the official handover said the four children were found in Lagos State through the effort of the Department of State Services.
He said, “We took them through DNA test conducted to ascertain the legitimacy of the children and their adopted parents which was done overtime and were confirmed negative. From there, we identified these children and brought them back home.
“Three of them, their biological parents are identified while the parents of one are yet to be identified.”
While congratulating and extending heartfelt and sincere gratitude of the state governor, Alhaji assured the government’s resolve in the fight against criminality.
“The government has never given up on the missing children and has been in search of information where necessary and therefore continues to track in anticipation to getting to the top of the issue,” he said.
He however urged parents to look after their children especially at tender age.
Recall that in 2019, the police said nine children were kidnapped in Kano in separate incidents and were allegedly renamed and sold off in Onitsha, a commercial city in Anambra State.
Last year, seven more children that were stolen from the state were said to have been found in Anambra and Enugu states.
