Four die in Ondo road accident

Four people were killed, while 13 others were seriously injured in a lone accident which occurred along Ikaram Akunu road in the Akoko area of Ondo State on Saturday.

The Hiace Toyota commercial vehicle with registration MBA XA, ash colour involved in the accident was said to be heading for the northern part of the country.
An eyewitness account attributed the accident to tyre burst.
Speaking on the crash, the unit commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ikare Akoko, Mr Oluropo Alabi, said the rescue crew of the command rushed to the scene of the accident to assist the victims.
Alabi, however, confirmed that the four corpses were deposited at the mortuary of Ikare Akoko Specialist Hospital while the injured also received treatment at the same hospital.
The divisional Police Officer Okeagbe Akoko, SP Paullinus Unnah, also confirmed that the vehicle involved was in police custody at Ikaram Akoko.
