Fountain University Osogbo, Osun State, has recorded a breakthrough on its research on early cervical cancer diagnosis in Nigeria.
The university secured a grant from the Cambridge-Africa Programme in collaboration with University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
The vice chancellor, Professor Olayinka Ramota-Karim, disclosed this in Osogbo during a press conference heralding the 13th convocation of the university.
The VC noted that Prof. Majeedah Afolabi-Balogun of the Department of Chemical Sciences at Fountain University is working with Dr Sara Pensa of Cambridge University on the research.
He also said nine graduands bagged First-Class Honours while 91 made Second Class Honours (Upper Division) and that 99 and 18 will be graduating in the Second Class Honours (Lower) and Third-Class categories respectively as only one graduand falls in Pass category.
