The Nembe Ibe USA association has condemned the denial and lack of action over the recent oil spill at the Worikuma Kiri (OML 29) in Nembe, Bayelsa State.
President Nembe Ibe USA, Young Dede Omiela, said this in a statement sent to Daily Trust on Friday in Abuja.

He said the association is concerned over the catastrophic oil and gas spill at Worikuma Kiri (OML 29), in Nembe, especially after reviewing videos of the spill which continues to spew toxic hydrocarbons into the environment unabated for the past four weeks.
“We are concerned about the health and economic wellbeing of our people including the significant impact to our marine ecosystem and economy.
“Oil drilling operations present an inherent risk for oil spills and operators must be ready to act swiftly to curtail such spills.
“The Nembe community bears the brunt and impact from such spills. This disaster is already having a devastating effect not only on our marine wildlife and ecosystem but also on the livelihood of people in our communities.
“Four weeks after the sighting of the spill, AITEO Eastern Exploration and Production Company Ltd, has not stopped the leaks contrary to the press statements by their spokespersons.
