A non-governmental organization, Elim Christian Vocational Training Center (CVTC) for the Disabled, has concluded a two-day training for journalists in Benue State.
Our correspondent reports that the training harped on “Enabling Resilience to Climate Change Related Risks Through Local CSOS’ Strengthening (ER2CC) project in Benue State funded by the European Union and Christian Blind Mission (CBM).
The workshop aimed to adapt to climate-related hazards and natural disasters as well as strengthen the participants’ capacities to promote peace and social cohesion.
The Programme Manager of Elim CVTC, Emmanuel Egbodo, told participants that Elim CVTC is implementing the ER2CC project in Benue State to ensure that persons with disabilities and their representing organizations are capacitated and actively involved in climate-change-related policy processes in the state.
Earlier, the Project Coordinator of ER2CC, Rachel Dzever, urged journalists to use their platforms to sensitise the public on the effects of climate change.
