Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mrs. Felicia Iliya, while speaking at the presentation, said: “What the foundation did this year is worth over N10m. This year, the foundation is giving out 4 cars, 2 tricycles, and interest-free loans ranging from N50, 000 to N200, 000. Last year it was motorcycles alone. Next year we will do new things.”
She assured the people that the gesture will continue, saying that she was from a poor family where they were unable to eat and feed comfortably. “So I know what poverty is and that is the main reason why I want to see people grow. I am happy when I see families doing well and taking adequate care of their wards. I strongly believe that no child should drop out of school or suffer terrible health conditions because of parents’ inability to address critical aspects of the child’s growth and development.”
Some of the beneficiaries who could not conceal their joy described Mrs. Felicia Iliya’s gesture as unprecedented, saying it can boost the economic activities among Kaduna communities. John Nwada and Emmanuel Apeh got the tricycles, while Godwin Mike, Enecheojo Abah, Iliya Peter, and Mary Ameh got the cars. Other beneficiaries got interest-free loans.
