Foundation installs streetlights in Kaduna community

The Sardaunan Badarawa Foundation has installed 150 units of streetlights in and around Badarawa community, a suburban settlement in Kaduna North Local Government Area.

The founder of the foundation, Honourable Usman Ibrahim, said his decision to install the 80 watts solar streetlights in the area was to put smiles on the faces of the people, adding that the streetlights would drastically reduce crime rate and other anti-social activities committed at night.

Ibrahim disclosed that other human development projects executed by the foundation included providing boreholes, learning centres, scholarships and offsetting the hospital bills of the needy in the community.

He said on one of his visits to the community, he noticed, “the whole place was without light and children grappling to play outdoors in darkness,” which moved him.

The District Head of Badarawa, Ahmadu Dahiru, said the installation of the streetlights in his community, said they would beautify the community at night and reduce crime rate.

He urged politicians and wealthy individuals to emulate Ibrahim, as an illustrious son of the community who has done a lot to uplift the people’s socio-economic and educational status.

A resident of the community, Yunusa Gaji, lauded the philanthropist whom, he said,  has done a lot for Badarawa and neighbouring communities.
