Foundation donates learning materials to inmates in Kano

The Zaytun Humanitarian Foundation has donated teaching, reading and writing materials to inmates at Kano Central Medium Security Custodial Centre.

The coordinator of the foundation, Muhammad Sani Abubakar, who spoke on behalf of the chairperson, Badariyya Bashir Alkali, said the intervention is aimed at identifying with the inmates so they can be better people in and outside the facility.

“Some of them were there accidentally due to some circumstances, not that they are real criminals and as a result, their academic activities have been put to a halt, hence our intervention.

Items donated to the facility’s clinic were 14 whiteboards, 30 cartons of exercise books, 10 packets of pens and markers and first aid drugs and medicines.

Abubakar further revealed that the foundation is working towards establishing and equipping a digital library for the inmates.
