The Lanre Laoshe Foundation has donated two science laboratories to Anglican Grammar School Oke-nla, Ifo, in Ogun state in furtherance of the foundation’s intervention in the education sector.

The Foundation, set up by Lanre Laoshe, the former deputy whip, House of Representatives between 1999 and 2013 had earlier intervened in seven schools in Ogun and Oyo states as well as the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, according to a statement signed by spokesperson of the Foundation, Badejo Ademuyiwa.

The statement said the founder of the Foundation, Lanre Laoshe said at the event that intervention in priority sectors like education is the core areas of the foundation as it looks to complement government efforts to improve the standard of education and well-being of the students.

He noted that education has deteriorated due to lack of basic teaching aids and it is time Nigerians rise up to support the sector so as to rebuild the nation. “Politicians should come together to help in resuscitating the dwindling education sector because the students of today are the electorates tomorrow,” Laoshe said.

Bishop of Ifo Anglican Dioceses, Nathaniel Ogunlade thanked the Foundation for its gesture, saying the donation of the two science laboratories was timely as the school had no laboratory. “Our school is seven years but without a science laboratory equipment to aid teaching. We have enrolled students for this year’s WAEC and NECO and the laboratory equipment will aid learning and preparations by the students,” Bishop Ogunlade said.
