The Zinariyar Arewa Foundation has donated food items, drinks and other relief materials to the psychiatric patients at the Ɗorayi rehabilitation centre in Kano state.
The charitable act aims to provide relief and improve the living conditions of the centre’s psychiatric patients.
The founder of the foundation, Hajiya Bilkisu Fema, pledged to provide more food and other sanitary items at intervals and also provide some drugs to some of the patients who are receiving treatment.
The chief administrator of the centre, Usman Ado Durumin Iya, while appreciating the gesture, urged other philanthropists, NGOs to provide more support to the patients and the center.
He stated that even though the government tried its best to provide food and other essential items to the centres, there were still some needs they needed help to meet.
“Here, in Ɗorayi, we have almost 100 psychiatric patients, and we have very few staff, some have gone because of retirement while some don’t want to work in places like this, even though they studied courses related to our services,” he added.
