The IrenePopoola Helping Heart Foundation International on Thursday in Abuja gave out cheques of N200,000 each to the FCT School of the Blind and the Destined Children’s Orphanage Home at Kado, during its inaugural ceremony.
In her speech, the founder, Dr Irene Popoola, said the foundation would be involved in addressing social issues such as poverty, inequality, discrimination and human rights violation.
Other areas where the foundation will delve into, according to her, include prompting education, environmental conservation, healthcare initiatives, promoting sustainable development, advocacy and policy change as well as promoting conflict resolution.
She assured that the foundation would be committed to transforming lives through compassion and care.

Speaking earlier, a medical doctor based in the United Kingdom, who doubles as the foundation’s chairman, Dr Oludamilare Popoola, commended the founder for the initiative and for carefully selecting communities that are in dire need of help.
The chairman also commended her for providing free educational materials in underprivileged communities, adding that for children in classrooms, education really starts for them when they have school bags, which the foundation has been given out freely.
Highlights of the event were musical presentations by the FCT School for the Blind and Destined Children’s Orphanage.
