Foundation distributes foodstuff to widows, aged persons in Anambra

A non-governmental organisation, Ifenalife Foundation, has distributed food items to over 400 widows and aged people at Alaife Community, Uli Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.

This was part of the foundation’s social responsibility programme designed to provide succour and put smiles on the faces of the poor particularly widows and aged women every new year.

The coordinator of the foundation, Frank Igbojindu, explained that Ifenalaife Foundation was founded by Chief Henry Iyke Mmerigwo (Onwa Alaife) to show love and care to widows and aged people in the society.

Frank Igbojindu who spoke on behalf of the founder at the New Year celebration said, “the Christmas and New Year season was that time in the year that the organisation looked forward to putting smiles on the faces of widows, less privileged and aged people in the community.

“While we all love to celebrate the season with our friends and families, we must not ignore some of us who might not have the privilege of celebrating the festival,” he also said.

The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the Year 2022 proposed projects of the foundation which included women and youth empowerment through skill acquisition training and business financial support.
