Foster Ogola loses bid to return to Senate as Dickson’s ally wins

The Senator representing Bayelsa West senatorial district, Senator Foster Ogola, has last his bid to return to the Senate, as Governor Seriake Dickson’s ally and immediate past commissioner for Works in the state, Mr Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo clinched the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for the zone.

Ewhrudjakpo polled 247 votes to defeat Senator Ogola with 2 votes.

The chairman of the PDP national assembly electoral panel for the senatorial district, Mr Daniel Onifade, said that Ewhrudjakpo having polled the highest number of votes during the primary is hereby declared the party’s candidate in the 2019 elections.

Reacting to his victory, the PDP senatorial candidate, Mr Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, promised to live up to the expectation of his people and attracts infrastructural development to the area.

“I will work assiduously for the restructuring of this country; here in Bayelsa West, we have deficit in infrastructures, I will work to improve on it,” he said.

He thanked the people of the senatorial district and Governor Dickson for standing by him and promised not to let them down.
