The Kebbi Development Forum has expressed concern over what it described as under-development of the state.
While briefing journalists at its secretariat in Birnin Kebbi, the forum leadership condemned the consensus by the All Progressive Congress to choose its governorship candidate in the coming elections, describing it as self-serving and anti-development.
The Secretary General of forum, Usman Abubakar, blamed the state’s “underdevelopment” on poor leadership.
“We therefore condemn in strong terms any attempt by political parties to narrow the recruitment process by presenting charlatans and unscrupulous people to continue under-development of Kebbi State”.
He called on religious leaders, labour unions and individuals to join hands with the forum in its efforts to get representatives who would account for their stewardship.
