Former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has urged the National Defense College to initiate policy for the purpose of enhancing governance and security in the country.
Addressing a team of participants of the National Defense College at his Hill top residence on Tuesday in Minna under the theme: “Youths Management and National Security: The Niger State experience”. General Babangida said: “I urged you all to articulate policies that will be beneficial to the armed forces and governments.”
General Babangida, who is the initiator of the National Defense College, said, “our vision and concept of the National Defense College was to provide the armed forces and other security agencies the best technical and tactical manpower in the world”.
On the participants’ tour theme of study, the former Military President said: “planning will be the best way to manage youths unemployment and idleness as well as pave way for comprehensive empowerment programmes”.
The team leader of the National Defense College, Commodore Solomon Agada assured General Babangida that the study tour to Niger State is to have first hand information aimed at addressing national challenges.
