The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Taraba State, David Sabo Kente, yesterday, announced his intention to quit the party.
Kente, a former member of the Taraba State House of Assembly, said in a statement he issued in Abuja that he arrived at his decision after consultation with his political associates.
He accused the party of derailing from its noble objectives, adding that the party was under the spell of a cabal around the national chairman, whose tenure expired in December 2015.
He said that the party’s inability to hold its national convention has violated its constitutional provisions.
