Former NMA chairman dies of COVID-19 in Ondo

Former chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) in Ondo state, Dr Michael Adeyeri on Thursday died of COVID-19

Adeyeri who works with the Ondo state government died at the Federal Medical Center Owo.

Mr. Adeyeri who is also the founder of Shekinah Hospital, Alagbaka in Akure was said to have attended to a patient shortly before his death.

His death was confirmed by the current NMA Chairman, Dr Wake Oke.

Sympathisers in their numbers have continued to pay visits to his hospital.

It was gathered that Mr. Adeyeri was taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo after he personally noticed he had contracted the virus.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro had died of the virus a week ago .

The state governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has also contracted the virus also last week but later tested negative.
