A former government house permanent secretary, Mainasara Sajo, 10 former local government chairmen and advisers have left the All Progressive Congress (APC) witty 3,510 followers to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Sajo who served as permanent secretary at the government house of Kebbi Government House during Saidu Dakingari administration announced his defection from APC to the PDP at a campaign rally for the PDP governorship candidate senator Isa Galaudu in Dakingari area of the state on Thursday.
He said he and his followers left the APC because of the injustice done to them during the party’s primary election.
“We were not treated justly during the primary election, there was clear favoritism and the election was characterized by irregularities “, he said.
Other prominent politicians who dumped the APC during the campaign rally said they would ensure the victory of PDP in the area because of the slots the party gave to the area to produce House of Representative member and a senator in the coming elections.
The PDP governorship candidate, Senator Galaudu accused the APC led administration in Kebbi state of poor performance and failure to fulfill its campaign promises to the people of the state.
He said “Even the agricultural program they are boasting of is beclouded by deceit to the farmers while abject poverty was the order of the day in the state”.
One of the prominent politicians who defected to the PDP from the APC donated 13 motorcycles and a car to the campaign train of the governorship candidate.
