Former chairman, Nigeria Institute of Builders, FCT branch, Bldr. Musa Yakubu has called on the federal government to establish a construction industry development board to reposition the building industry.
Yakubu who stated this in an interview with Daily Trust, said the board if established would check the activities of quacks, artisans as well as sanitizing the built environment for better performance and delivery.
According to him, quacks are destroying the building industry which he said always is  responsible for incessant building collapse and substandard buildings in the country.
Yakubu explained that what we have present are agencies of government that are not helpful, saying that if government set up the board with all the professionals and empower them with regulatory and controlling function, they would be able to control the  industry.
