The remains of a former Military Administrator (MILAD) of Imo State, Colonel Tanko Kurah Zubairu (Rtd), were Friday laid to rest at the Military Cemetery of 1 Division Nigerian Army, Kaduna.
The deceased was appointed military administrator of Imo State in the then military government of Gen Sani Abacha with a responsibility to develop lasting security and operational systems for the Eastern heartland.

Speaking at the funeral service which was held at St Luke’s Military Church, Camilla Barracks, 44 Nigerian Army Referral Hospital, Kaduna, the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, described the former MILAD as a bridge builder and a pillar to humanity.
Represented by the state’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, the governor said the state was saddened by the death.
Colonel Zubairu was born on June 30, 1947, in Kurmin Rami village, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
