The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) has assured beneficiaries of its overseas scholarship programmes that it will continue to meet its financial obligations that will ensure that existing scholars complete their study and research programmes.
The Acting Executive Secretary of the PTDF, Mr. Aminu Ahmed Galadima gave the assurance in an interview in his office.
There have been worries over the payment of scholars’ allowances due to the rise in the exchange rate of the naira to the dollar and certain dollar restrictions placed by Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
But Galadima said despite the existing constraints in accessing funds to sustain the programme, PTDF has acted proactively by engaging relevant stakeholders such as the CBN, the scholars, and representatives of the universities abroad.
