The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has said that it has placed some members of staff on mandatory leave with full benefits, pending the conclusion and the outcome of the ongoing forensic audit.
A press statement issued on Wednesday in Port Harcourt by the Commission’s Corporate Affairs Manager, Charles Obi Odili, said the management’s action is based on the advice of the Lead Consultant on the Forensic Audit exercise, which has been accepted by the Interim Management Committee (IMC).
He listed details of the staff sent on mandatory leave to include those indicted by security agencies such as the Police, ICPC, and the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for acts of impropriety.
Others listed are those whose acts are the subject of an investigation by the forensic auditors, plus those who held key and sensitive positions in the commission during the period covered by the forensic audit.
So also are those whose continued presence in the Commission will interfere, impair, undermine or compromise an objective forensic auditing of the commission.
He said the mandatory leave for the affected staff that has already been notified takes immediate effect.
