The Barau I. Jibrin Foundation (BIJF), an establishment of the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has released the list of the first batch of its 2024 foreign postgraduate scholarship in Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics technology, cybersecurity and forensic science.
In a statement on Thursday in Abuja, Barau’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, said admission letters would be presented to the beneficiaries on Monday at the Amani Events Centre in Kano.
According to the statement, the foundation secured admission for deserving students from the three senatorial districts of Kano State to pursue postgraduate programmes abroad.
Mudashir further said that the scholarship programme was conceived by Senator Barau to promote academic excellence and stimulate the country’s technological advancement.

The statement reads in part: “The scholarship programme is limited to artificial intelligence, robotics technology, cybersecurity and forensic science in line with the deputy president of the senate’s goal to contribute to addressing the shortage of experts in these specialised fields.”
Mudashir added that Senator Barau, who is the first Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, established the foundation to provide humanitarian, educational and empowerment initiatives in the country.
