Spiritual assassins. Why do great people fall? We have seen political, religious, civic, business, or family leaders, suddenly, at moments of great potential, having their faults come to public attention. When you were born, God assigned you a guardian angel. The devil may have also assigned a demon to you. Many people in regions, churches, and families have spirits that have been assigned to them by the devil. The job of these spirits is to wait for you people to arrive at a place in life where they are ready to do something great—and then ‘assassinate’ you and take you out of commission. This is the assassination attempt that comes before your ascension. The second mode of operation is to shoot a person down from a high pedestal. Spiritual assassins are responsible for shooting people down from heights. They cause sudden termination of employment, business failure, and other sudden calamities. They kill or throw a person down. Luke 9:42; Mark 9:14-29. They cast down, tear, bruise, disgrace and embarrass, cause fear, anxiety and uncertainty, make life intolerable. They are hit and run spirits. They do damage and take off. They may or may not be resident. They monitor their victim for long. They work hand in hand with familiar spirits. Assassinations are carried out usually after studying the target carefully and sometimes over a long period.
Sometimes the spirit will remain dormant, but when a person gets ready to make a big move for God, it will rise to assassinate him, and he will fall back into a low position once again. This cycle of slight or major victories followed by defeats or crash will be repeated throughout the person’s life.
- Evil inheritance—ancestral (Curses of failure, poverty, littleness, servitude, etc).
- Spirit of perversion or immorality. Bill Clinton was almost ruined by his indiscretion with Monica Lewinsky. The most recent victim is the popular golfer, Tiger Woods.
- Spirit of violence responsible for violent death, other forms of violence. We are witnessing this now in the political arena and some parts of the country and the world. This is why we anoint and sprinkle the blood of Jesus for EXEMPTION.
- Spirit of rejection and manipulation that breaks down marriages or causes broken engagements.
- Spirit of the tail or pit that ties people to the bottom.
- Spirit of poverty. No matter how much you make, it will not show if the spirit of poverty is operating in your life. They can wipe a person clean instantly rendering him hopelessly poor. These spirits work with the spirit of perversion and immorality. Most cases of poverty are caused by the collaboration of these two spirits.
- Dream snatchers and dream killers. Household enemies, forces of jealousy operating through competitors belong in this group. They could easily become violent. Pharaoh masterminded the killing of infant males in Egypt when Moses was born. Herod masterminded the killing of infant males when Christ was born. They both feared being replaced. The chief priests delivered Jesus to Pilate because of envy (Mark 15:10). They feared being replaced. Watch out for people who fear you will take their place; people who feel threatened by your presence or success. Joseph’s brothers nearly killed him to stop him from achieving his God-given dreams.
B . Character assassins. Spirits that spread damaging information about you and stir others against you.
- Evil broadcasters. Gossips belong here. They spread rumours and falsehood and create a bad image to damage your reputation.
- Destiny sellers and buyers.
- Sorcerers (witches and wizards). Nahum 3:4 “4Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the well-favoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.” Witchcraft and immorality go hand in hand. The Bible says they are so dangerous they can sell nations. You are selling yourself when you engage in immoral acts.
- Evil prophets – courtships have been broken because of the prophecy of someone who claims to be a prophet.
- Spirit of hate. Character assassins are killers.
- Spirits that attack the mind with fear, doubt, depression, distraction, frustration and confusion.
- Low self-esteem. They make you feel inadequate, worthless, incapable and inferior. They exaggerate your weakness; they make you compare yourself with people who possess talents you don’t have. They point out how many times you have failed and tell you you’re no good. If the devil can destroy your confidence, he can destroy your destiny.
- Lying spirit-(Acts 5:3) Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart.” Ananias and Sapphira, who were believers (v. 32), sold a piece of property to give to the church. However, before they gave the money, they decided to keep some of it for themselves and gave the impression that they brought all the proceeds of the sale. Because they lied to the Spirit, they died. Where in the world did they get the idea to lie to the Spirit and keep some of the money? Satan!
- Vagabond Spirits
- Wandering stars (Wandering or vagabond spirits—round about spirits). You keep jumping from one career to another. You are doing many things at the same time. Successful people focus on one thing. God designed you to succeed as a wonderful specific; not a wandering generality. You are a specialist; not a jack of all trade. Find out what you are gifted to do and train to become the best in it. Your reward will be unimaginable!
- Spirit of lateness, procrastination—it frustrates. Delayed progress. Spirit of abandonment. If you find yourself abandoning things or being abandoned always, this spirit may be at work. The cure for this is divine favour.
- Spirit of disappointment. These spirits cause frustration and are right busy on earth. Frequent disappointment is not normal or healthy.
- Right snatchers—anything that snatches your right will delay or destroy your progress.
- Counterfeit blessings. Satan’s favourite pastime is offering you something far inferior to what God is planning for your life. He offered counterfeit blessings to Jesus, but He rejected them. Abraham and Sarah got stuck with a counterfeit blessing until God insisted and gave them what He promised. He assigns people to useless pursuits.
- Desert spirits
The Solution
John 10:10, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I have come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Upon mount Zion shall be deliverance and holiness…
Jesus is the answer. The Bible says in John 8:36, “If the Son, therefore, shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
Cry to Him today and ask Him to save you and deliver you. His arms are wide open. Meet someone knowledgeable to minister to you.
