The teeming fans of Katsina United took to the streets of the ancient city yesterday to celebrate the return of their darling club to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), eagerly awaiting the NPFL live scores to track their team’s performance.
It will be recalled that Katsina United recently picked the ticket to return to the Nigerian topflight at the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 competition which was held in Asaba, Delta State.
Consequently, enthusiastic fans and other football stakeholders in Katsina came together to rejoice with the club and the sports-loving people of the state over the promotion of the ‘Chanji boys’.
Daily Trust gathered that the celebration started from Dan’dagoro to Kofar Marusa down to Gwan Gwan through Kofar Durbi and terminated at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, the home ground of Katsina United.

Speaking, the president Dadin Kowa Football Academy, Alhaji Abubakar Sani, who is also the Director-General Dikko Sports Movement, said the rally was organised to show gratitude to God Almighty, players, officials, management, and supporters of the club for making the state proud.
He also acknowledged the support from the government which he said was responsible for the successful return of Katsina United to the Nigerian topflight.
On his part, the captain of Katsina United, Usman Bara’u, who spoke on behalf of his teammates thanked the fans for coming out en masse to celebrate with them.
