A food vendor was yesterday found lying unconscious inside his fast-food shop in the Byhazin area of Kubwa, Abuja.
Some of his neighbours, who spoke with our reporter, claimed that he may have inhaled a lot of carbon-monoxide. One of them also alleged that he was cooking behind closed doors, an action that exposed him to  so much smoke. He said it took combined efforts of neighbours to force the door open, after which he was found unconscious on the floor, with bruises on his hand.
City News learnt that he was, however, rescued and taken to the Kubwa General Hospital by the police, who were immediately alerted of the incident.
When contacted, the Kubwa Divisional Police Officer, Chief Superintendent Nurruddeen Sabo, confirmed the incident, while the head of Accident and Emergency Unit of the hospital, Paul Olise, said he was responding to treatment.
