Flyover project: Ekiti pays compensation, demolishes structures

The Ekiti State Government has said that it paid compensation to people whose buildings and structures are affected by the construction of an overhead bridge in the state capital, Ado-Ekiti.
This is just as the government has started the demolition of buildings and structures in the way of the project to give room for the contractors to work unhindered.
Governor Ayodele Fayose who monitored the demolition exercise in Okesa area of the town yesterday, said there was no point delaying the project when those affected had been paid and duly given enough notice.
“First, we appreciate the people whose structures and ‎buildings are affected by the construction work. We all have to make sacrifices for the development of our state. We must all ensure that our state competes favourably with others and on our part as a government, we are determined to give the people of the state our best despite the paucity of funds,” he said.
