The coach of the Super Eagles, José Peseiro, has included two members of the 2023 AFCON U-20 bronze winning Flying Eagles squad, Captain Daniel Bameyi and goalkeeper Chijioke Aniagboso in his 23-man roster for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Guinea-Bissau.

Nigeria’s senior men’s football national team will play two qualifying matches against the West African side between Friday, March 24 and Monday, March 27.

The Super Eagles will play Guinea Bissau in the first of two games at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

Meanwhile, Troost-Ekong has been ruled out of the qualifying clash with Djurtus following an injury he suffered in February.

According to Peseiro, Troost-Ekong is working a lot to attain full fitness, but would not be fit in time for either fixture.

At the moment, the Super Eagles lead Group A, following earlier wins over Liberia and Sao Tome.
