Jigawa State government has distributed food and relief materials worth N19m to People With Disability (PWD) that were affected by flood disaster in the state.
It would be recalled that two months ago, flood wrecked havoc in the state following an overflow of River Hadejia which led to loss of lives and properties worth millions of naira.
The Executive Secretary of Jigawa State Rehabilitation Board, Alhaji Ibrahim Rabakaya told Arewa Chronicle that the beneficiaries were people with disability affected by the recent flood disaster in nine local governments areas of the state.
He said the relief materials included foodstuffs, clothings, mattresses, blankets and other households.
Rabakaya maintained that the primary responsibility of his board was to protect and promote the right and dignity of its subjects including people with disability.
“The board has distributed food items and other forms of relief materials to the People With Disability that were affected by the September 2018 flood disaster across the nine LGAs in the state,” he said.
