Flood: Tinubu sends 2 ministers to Ogun for assessment

The Minister of State for Environment, Isiaq Salako and his Water Resources and Sanitation counterpart, Prof. Joseph Utsev led the federal government delegation to the flooded Isheri community in Ifo local government area of Ogun state, for an on-the-spot assessment.

The ministers visited the troubled community in the company of Governor Dapo Abiodun and other government officials.

Abiodun had on Monday declared a state of emergency in the community where many residents have been sacked due to the flooding.

Speaking yesterday, the ministers assured of a permanent solution to the flood challenge ravaging the Isheri community.

Salako noted that plans were on the way to find a permanent solution to the perennial flood often experienced by the Isheri community.

The minister said the result of climate change experienced globally could not be reversed but urged residents to be environmentally responsible.
