Speaking during the distribution flag off in Jigawa, Hon Magaji sympathized with the victims and urged them to accept the disaster as an act of destiny, adding that the devastating adverse effects of the flood are visible enough and the victims are in dire need of assistance.
“It is a moral responsibility upon me and any well-to-do person to complement government’s efforts in providing relief materials to these victims. They are in this situation not because they warrant it but because God has destined it to happen,” he said.
The donated food items were handed over to nine district heads of the affected areas for onward distribution to the victims in their area.
