The Jigawa State government is looking into the possibility of relocating Dakayyawa village in Kaugama local government area to high plain land as a result of the flood disaster that affects the village yearly.
Three local government areas in Jigawa State had already witnessed flooding this year.
Houses and farmlands belonging to the villagers were washed away following a heavy down pour and overflow of river Hadejia in the three affected local government areas of Miga, Kaugama and Guri.
Though, no life was lost, some of the victims, who were rendered homeless by the flood, are camped in a primary school.
The Deputy governor of the state, Umar Namadi, disclose that there were possibilities of relocating Dakayyawa village, when he visited the affected local government areas for an on-the-spot-assessment.
He said the present administration was working assiduously for a permanent solution to the yearly flooding in the state.
Namadi has since directed the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to supply the victims with relief materials.
