No fewer than 13 communities in Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State have been ravaged by flood which damaged properties and farms.
Residents said the flood, which occurred on Monday night, also left hundreds of persons displaced and destroyed bridges leading to some communities.

The residents of the affected community told our correspondent that the incident was caused by a heavy rainfall which lasted several hours.
Emmanuel Nanpak, a resident of Mabudi, told Daily Trust that several homes were submerged in Mabudi, Lashel, Turaki, Gehetu, Karkasi Magama among several other communities.
Another resident, who gave his name as Nankar Adams, said the flood disaster would result in “an impending hunger in the locality because several major farmers were affected.”
The Chairman of Langtang South Local Government Council, Hon Vincent Venman Bulus, had on his Facebook page, confirmed the development saying, “it’s sad to hear about the flood that swept Mabudi community of Langtang South which resulted in destruction of properties worth millions of naira.”
“I sympathize with the victims of the flood and the entire Mabudi community. It has become necessary for communities, individuals and us as authorities to take proactive measures,” he added.
The affected residents however called on government at all levels to come to their aide.
