The Borno State Government has released the names of individuals, government agencies, and corporate organisations that contributed to relief efforts for victims of the recent flood disaster in Maiduguri and surrounding areas.
According to a message of gratitude from the state government, the donations included cash contributions from 730 donors, drugs and medical equipment from 227, and assorted items from 59 individuals and organisations.
Hon. Bukar Tijjani, the Secretary to the Borno State Government, expressed appreciation for the generosity and solidarity shown to the state in its time of need.
He said the support provided through the Flood Disaster Relief Basket Fund had significantly assisted families affected by the disaster.

“Your kindness and solidarity have helped us restore livelihoods and rebuild our communities. This collective effort has alleviated the suffering of thousands of victims, reinforcing our unity and sense of purpose,” he said.
Tijjani assured the public that all contributions would be used judiciously for their intended purposes.
He also acknowledged the possibility of omissions in the donor list, promising an addendum to rectify any errors.
