A heavy downpour has cut off another portion of Bauchi-Gombe Highway and left motorists stranded – the second time in less than three weeks.
The Bauchi State Sector Commander of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC), Yusuf Abdullahi, said following the Friday rainfall, one of the major culverts collapsed again.

Abdullahi, in a First Information Report (FIR) made available to journalists Sunday morning, announced that travellers from Adamawa to Abuja should go through Gombe-Dukku-Darazo-Bauchi-Jos-Abuja as alternative routes and vice versa.
Meanwhile, road safety officials, police and vigilante personnel have been drafted to the scene to control traffic, secure the location and ensure orderliness.
