A 60-year-old man, Osarobo Obayuwana, has died as a result of flood that ravaged Evbotubu community in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State.
Daily Trust gathered that late Obayuwana fell into a gully dug by the side of the Evbotubu road and drowned while returning to his apartment at 13, First Power Line Street, Evbotubu, after buying an item at a location adjacent his house.
A resident of the area, Negbebor, described the incident, which occurred last Thursday afternoon, as one too many, as the gully had consistently claimed lives.
He said the gully which was dug by the Edo State government as part of a water project targeted at de-flooding Benin City, had been serving a counter-purpose.
