The Adamawa State government has postponed the start of the new academic session by two weeks, citing an impending flood warning issued by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET).
The decision affects the first term of the 2024/2025 academic session, which will now commence on September 30, 2024.
According to a circular issued on September 13, 2024, education officials, including Zonal Directors, Initiating Principals, and Principals, have been directed to comply with the revised resumption date.
Bilsan Panuel, Acting Executive Secretary of the Post Primary Schools Management Board, confirmed the development in a statement, attributing the delay to the anticipated flood disaster.
