Edo: Five killed in community crisis

Five people have been allegedly killed in Okihiri community, Ikppba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State following a leadership tussle in the community.
It was gathered that four of the five victims were from the same family and were allegedly buried in a shallow grave in the bush, while the remaining one was dumped by the roadside.
A reliable source told Daily Trust that five houses and some cars belonging to the indigenes were set ablaze during the crisis.
It was gathered that the crisis was a result of a leadership tussle in the community.
When contacted, the state police command’s spokesperson, Bello Kongtons, confirmed the killings.
He attributed the development to an intra-community crisis.
He said the police’s pathologists have exhumed the decomposing corpses, adding that four of the corpses have been identified, while the remaining one is yet to be identified.
According to him, the corpses have been deposited at the Stella Obasanjo Hospital’s morgue.
He added that normalcy has returned to the community and that the police are on top of the situation.
