The first private university in Jigawa State, Khadija University Majiya (KUM) has held its maiden matriculation for the 2021/2022 academic session with 130 students over the weekend.
The 130 students of the new institution located in Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State were admitted into 13-degree programmes in three academic faculties, including Basic Medical Sciences, Science and Computing, and Social and Management Sciences.
The Basic Medical Sciences has 80 registered students, with 30 in Nursing Services, 31 in Medical Laboratory Science, and 23 in Physiotherapy.
The Faculty of Science and Computing has 26 registered students comprising four in Biology, one in Chemistry, 13 in Computer Science, four in Cyber Security, and four students in Software Engineering, among others.
Addressing the new student, the university’s pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Hassana Sani Darma, said the matriculation marked the end of the student’s registration for the session.
The Vice-Chancellor charged the students to always exhibit good conduct both in their academic and extra-curricular activities, saying that anything on the contrary would not be accepted by the management of the institution.
