First Lady’s #Achechijamaa rises against insecurity

First Lady Aisha Buhari has started a hashtag #Achechijamaa to call President Muhammadu Buhari’s attention to insecurity in the north of the country.

She simply tweeted #Achechijamaa to accompany a video slide of the President in several meetings with security chiefs.

The video is accompanied with a soundtrack calling for help.

The video has garnered more than 396,000 views.

Achechijamaa is Hausa for “rescue the people”.

The hashtag has trended to the top of Nigerian Twitter community

Battling insecurity

The country is battling with Boko Haram in the North East and banditry and kidnapping in the North West and North Central.

There is ongoing widespread protests across the country to bring an end to police brutality and scrapping of SARS.

The State Security Service, SSS, on Friday night grilled four leaders of Coalition of Northern Groups, CNG, who are planning to stage protests over insecurity in the North, with a hashtag #EndInsecurityNow.

In June last year in Katsina, the First Lady had lamented the killings in the North, saying, “The security agents should either assist to take action or allow the situation continue until bandits finished killing our people.”

In her latest campaign against the killings, the wife of the president shared a Hausa song with the hashtag on her verified Facebook page.
