The first house winner in Globacom’s Festival of Joy promotion has emerged. He is 19-year-old Ibrahim Akindele, a 200-level student of Science Laboratory at Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.
At a presentation ceremony held by the company yesterday, Akindele was given the keys to a three-bedroom house by Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Debo Ogundoyin.

The company, in a statement, quoted Akindele as saying: “My first reaction when I was called and told about the good news was doubt. I was in disbelief, I thought it was just someone playing pranks. I’m short of words to convey my appreciation to Glo for what they’ve done for me today.”
Globacom’s Head of Operations in the West Territory, Akeem Yusuf, said the promo was another opportunity for the company to reward its subscribers with amazing prizes in line with its commitment to the continued empowerment of its customers.
“Our commitment to the total well-being of our subscribers and the realization that shelter is one of the key needs of man have fueled our desire to help some of them have houses of their own through this promo.”
The company said Ibadan would host another prize presentation today during which winners would go home with prizes, including a brand new Kia car, power generators, sewing machines, rechargeable fans, among other prizes.
