Bühler Nigeria, a multinational plant equipment manufacturer has revealed that the company will soon launch its grain processing innovation centre in Kano state to inject the idea of use of modern technology to ease and promote food and feed businesses in the region.

This was disclosed by the Managing Director Bühler Nigeria Mr Manuel Mumenhoff during an official unveiling of the latest trend grain sorting machine to rice millers and other agro-commodity operators in the state.

The MD explained that the grain innovation centre will assist grain and other value-added products to access latest technologies as well as acquire the needed training to improve their businesses. According to him, many people in the grain business are losing a lot due to poor sorting processes adding that the grain business usually suffers when the sorting was poorly done and as such off takers usually finds it difficult to off take poorly sorted grain.

“We have seen the future in grain processing and aggregation especially in northern Nigeria and specifically in Kano state that has the largest grain trading market in the country. The introduction of the grain sorting machine is to ensure quality grain in internal grain intake as well as quality in grain for export. We want to encourage quality export of agricultural commodities and other value-added products that will promote and enhance the Nigerian agribusiness community’s activities,” said Mumenhoff.
