Firm moves to tap $200bn outsourcing sector

Tech4Dev, a non-profit social enterprise, has launched Taltrix, an innovative business process outsourcing (BPO) initiative, with a bold mission to reshape Africa’s employment landscape.

The initiative is targeting the outsourcing sector. which is projected to grow to over $200bn within the next few years.

According to the CEO of Tech4Dev, Joel Ogunsola, the primary goal is to bridge the gap between digital skills training and job placements by aiming to provide employment opportunities for 100,000 young Africans by 2030.

“We believe that the outsourcing sector has the probability to grow to become a $200 billion sector on the continent,” he said.

The BPO project, launched in collaboration with Impact Hub Lagos and Univelcity and hosted by Microsoft Nigeria, had dignitaries from Microsoft, Meta, American Tower Corporation in Nigeria, with the Ondo State Information Technology Agency lending their support.

Beyond job creation, Taltrix aims to combat Nigeria’s internal migration woes, as highlighted by Solape Hammond, CEO of Impact Hub Lagos.

Industry leaders like Ola Williams, General Manager of Microsoft Nigeria & Ghana, expressed enthusiasm about leveraging initiatives like Taltrix to fulfill Microsoft’s global mission of inclusion.

Executive Director of Tech4Dev, Oladiwura Oladepo, underscored Taltrix’s commitment to investing in human capital development to mitigate unemployment while fueling economic growth, particularly among underrepresented demographics.
