A new online taxi-hailing company known as Ride, has launched its operations in Abuja, Nigeria with hundreds of driver-partners registered on its platform and all set to accept rides in the Federal Capital Territory, and all across the thirty-six states of the federation.
Speaking during the grand launching ceremony, the company’s Head of Media and Strategic Communications, Mr. Odaudu Joel, asserted that Ride is birthed to offer Nigerians an affordable, convenient, comfortable, easy and flexible option for both local and interstate transit services.
“Ride is launched to provide more convenient, affordable, efficient and reliable transport services to existing transport options in the FCT as well as to help enhance urban mobility across the 36 states. Our goal is to provide Nigerians with an affordable, easy and flexible alternative for commuting across the nation’s cities safely and reliably”, Odaudu stated.
Mr Odaudu further stressed that the newly established online taxi-hailing company is part of a more significant shift in transportation, as well as a fresh, innovative platform that would reshape our travel patterns and shape the future of cities across Nigeria.
Also speaking during the launching, Ride’s Senior Vice President, Mr. Anselm Idoko, who characterized the launching as a huge success, expressed confidence in Ride’s capacity to provide the safest, most effective and comfortable transport service to the Nigerian populace as well as job opportunities for vehicle owners.
“As a new entrant into the Nigerian e-hailing space, we are looking forward to introducing cities across Nigeria and the FCT to safe, reliable and affordable ride-hailing services on demand, and introducing flexible employment opportunities to thousands of drivers and vehicle owners nationwide”, he said.
