Firm launches live online hotel booking in Nigeria

The Staycation.ng, an online booking platform for hotels has been launched in Abuja to cater for real-time hotel bookings in the country.

The co-CEO of Staycation.ng, an online booking platform for hotels, Anthony Chukwuma, said this weekend in Abuja at the formal launch of the platform.

According to him, some hotels in Abuja were invited to the event, which he said would also be launched in Lagos and Port Harcourt, Rivers State soon.

“About 50 hotels came here for the launch and that they were all excited about the programme. In the next two week the website would go live,” Chukwuma said.

On how this would benefit customers who were using other platforms or patronising the hotels directly, he said that there are lots of hotel booking platforms and that what is different in theirs is that his partner was a hotelier who has worked in the travel and tourism industry for over 10 years and that himself being a business person.

He said, “So, our combination was key. What we have done was that while other platforms allowed you to book rooms, we have unique innovations that you can book groups instead of boking one by one and you can also book halls, banqueting and foods and other from our platform.

“Also, we allowed referrals, people can partner with us and become our referral and we give a commission. We share our commission with you. This is basically to help Nigeria and Nigerians. This is because unemployment in Nigeria is high, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic.

So, this is a way of helping the community. As long as you have a mobile phone and internet access, you can partner with us and once you make a booking for people, you get commission.”

When asked if the organisation would establish hotels too, he said that there are lots of hotels in the country and the world, and that the problems is that people do not know the right hotels to pick, thus their platform is a real time and live with the photos of the hotels and guides so that people can pick the right hotels for their occasions and leisure.
