Hello Tractor has flagged off Hello Tractor’s Mechanisation Hub at Gunki in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasararwa State to tackle youth restiveness and fight food insecurity in the state.

The Country Manager of Hello Tractor Nigeria, Dr. Nneka Enwonwu, said the lunching of three additional tractor mechanisation to farmers in the state was aimed at facilitating leakages between small holder farmers with mechanized service providers.

According to her, no fewer than 49 tractors have been donated in Nigeria and three others to farmers in Nasarawa local government area of the state.

She said the gesture would go a long way in creating a unique platform for critical stakeholders to network and participate in the programme. “Through the PAYG tractor financing for agri-preneurs, 49 tractors so far have been handed over to participants in Nigeria while three additional tractors were handed over to farmers in Nasarawa State. The handover of additional tractors has demonstrated Heifer’s Passing-on-the-Gift (PoG) cornerstone as the funds realized fom the initial recipients of tractors under the PAYG tractor financing scheme has now re-financed additional three tractors for new participants.”

Earlier, the commissioner for agriculture in the state, Mr. Nuhu Ibrahim-Oshafu, said agriculture cannot succeed except it’s private driven, reiterating the state government’s commitment to join hands with Hello tractor to move the state into full mechanized farming.

Ibrahim-Oshaful, who was represented by the director of agriculture engineering services in the ministry, Mr Yakubu Jama, while appreciating Hello Tractor for handing over tractors to farmers in the state, warned the beneficiaries against diverting the tractors to another use.
