Vatebra Limited, an Information and Communications Technology firm said it honoured the best candidates of the West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and their schools in the 2020 academic year to support the education of young minds for the future.
A statement from the firm Thursday said it partnered with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Nigeria for the initiative.
The award was held in Ibadan, Oyo State in 2021 with winners getting various cash prizes. Community Secondary School, Abajah in Imo State clinched the WAEC/VATEBRA Merit Award overall best public secondary school in all subjects’ prize of N2.5 million while Ayebode High School in Ekiti State was the best public secondary school in Sciences, clinching N1.5m prize.
Head, Educational Bodies at Vatebra Limited, Oluwole Aduloju, explained that the award is in recognition of excellence and hard-work by the winners.
He said: “One major criterion to be met by winners of the WAEC/VATEBRA merit award is to be outstanding and be without blemish knowing that this driving principle also transcends from one of our organisational core values of excellence.”
