Property worth millions of naira were destroyed in Osogbo, Osun State capital on Thursday as fire razed buildings at Alekuwodo area of the state.
One of the affected buildings was a two-storey building at the Akindeko junction where furniture materials, interior decorations, electronics and other valuable items were reduced to ashes.

Daily Trust learnt that the fire incident started around 1am and ravaged the area till the morning.
Though, residents said the fire might have been caused by power surge, no official statement on the real cause of the fire as of the time of filing this report.
Firemen and residents made frantic effort to stop the fire. The spokesperson for Osun State Fire Servic, Ibraheem Adekunle, could not be reached on his mobile phone.
